The Client
Why we don't name this client: they asked to remain anonymous while we run their campaigns, so we share the trade, the region and the real results, but not their name or website.
This client is a paver and hardscaping contractor in Western Washington, serving several metro areas. We run their Google Ads and Meta Ads, which grew leads from 36 a month to 130+.
They build paver patios, driveways, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens and fire pits, and they have been doing it for more than 25 years. Every project is a big decision for a homeowner, so a steady flow of calls and quote requests is what keeps the crews booked.
"36 leads in February 2024. 130+ in April 2026. 1,900+ in total."
The Challenge
Google Ads for paver contractors is a seasonal, high-ticket market:
- Big decisions, long research. A patio or retaining wall is a five-figure project. Homeowners compare contractors for weeks before they call.
- A short building season. Demand in the Pacific Northwest peaks from spring to early fall, and the account has to be ready before the rain stops.
- DIY and materials traffic. Paver searches attract people buying pavers at a store or planning to lay them themselves.
- A wide service area. Three showrooms and two states, Washington and Oregon, each with its own homeowners and competitors.
What We Built
1. Google Local Services Ads for calls and messages
Local Services Ads put the contractor at the top of Google for local paver and hardscaping searches, and they are charged by the lead, not the click. Since February 2024 they have delivered 1,200+ leads: 900+ phone calls and 290+ messages.
2. Meta lead ads for homeowners who aren't searching yet
A Facebook and Instagram lead campaign with an instant form, running since February 2024, finds homeowners before they start searching. In March 2026 we added a retargeting campaign for people who had already engaged with the brand. Together they have produced 670+ leads at about $57 each.
3. Search campaigns for retaining walls and driveways
In September 2026 we added two Search campaigns, WA - Retaining Walls & Driveways - LPA and OR - Retaining Walls & Driveways - LPA, one for Western Washington and one for the Portland metro. Each has separate ad groups for retaining walls and driveways on exact-match keywords, protected by a shared list of negatives that blocks DIY, jobs, materials-only and stamped concrete searches.
4. Conversion tracking for every lead source
For the Search campaigns we set up tracking for quote-form submissions and for calls from the website, with each of the business's phone numbers tracked on its own. Only real calls and completed quote forms count; clicks on a phone number do not.
5. Daily Optimization via Ad Campaign Concierge™
Every campaign is reviewed every business day through Ad Campaign Concierge™, our proprietary optimization system: lead quality, search terms, negatives, budgets and seasonal pacing.
The Results
The numbers below are leads from our campaigns on Google Ads and Meta Ads, February 2024 to early October 2026.
- 1,900+ leads in total, at about $71 each across both platforms.
- Google Local Services Ads: 1,200+ leads, 900+ of them phone calls.
- Meta lead ads: 670+ leads at about $57 each.
- 2024: 380+ leads in the first eleven months.
- 2025: 680+ leads, with 86 or more every month from May to July.
- 2026: 840+ leads in nine months, already more than all of 2025, and a record 130+ leads in April.
Leads Every Month
Hardscaping follows the weather, and the account shows it. Each spring has been bigger than the last: 45 leads in May 2024, 86 in May 2025 and 120 in May 2026.
1,900+ Leads Since the First Campaign
Key Takeaways
- Pay-per-lead first, then build around it. Local Services Ads gave a contractor with no web tracking a steady flow of real calls from day one.
- Meta reaches homeowners before they search. Lead ads brought in 670+ leads at a lower cost per lead than search, from people who had not started comparing contractors yet.
- Ride the season. April to July 2026 brought 480+ leads in four months. Budgets follow the building season, not the calendar year.
- Track every phone number. A business with several showroom lines needs each number tracked on its own, or calls go missing from the data.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many leads can a paver patio contractor get from Google and Meta ads?
The contractor has received 1,900+ leads from our campaigns since February 2024. The first nine months of 2026 brought 840+, already more than all of 2025 (680+), with a record 130+ leads in April 2026.
Local Services Ads or Meta lead ads for a hardscaping company?
Both earn their place here. Google Local Services Ads produced 1,200+ leads (900+ phone calls and 290+ messages) at about $78 each. Meta lead ads produced 670+ leads at about $57 each, from homeowners who were not searching yet.
How much does a paver patio lead cost?
Across Google and Meta, the contractor has paid about $71 a lead since February 2024, on $130K+ of ad spend. For patio, driveway and retaining wall projects that often run five figures, one booked job covers many leads.
When do paver and hardscaping leads peak?
Spring and summer. April to July 2026 brought 480+ leads in four months. We raise budgets into the season and hold the account steady through the slower winter months, so the campaigns keep their data.
